"may dilute the rarity of the R"
If you want one for the performance why is rarity important to you?
If you want a manual and it's available why do you care if it's also available as an automatic?
The local Honda dealer has almost no new vehicles. Hasn't had for weeks. It's a ghost town except for service work.
Dealers want to survive. In bad times they typically don't have enough buyers. Now, they don't have a product to sell.
These are multi-million dollar investments. They're...
It does have a blue "low temp" indicator just below the speedo. It's either low or normal. If it gets too hot a message appears on the display.
The 0 - 160 speedo is absurd. I prefer a simple digital speedo. Use the analog speedo space for something else.
Apparently they aren't losing many sales to the more competent vehicle.
Mazda 3 is so successful it's being outsold by:
Corolla
Civic
Sentra 77.9K units
Elantra 74.1K
Forte 62.2K
Jetta 43.0K
Even the Volkswagen Jetta doubled the sales of the Mazda 3.
"No doubt the Civic is nice. I'd rather have seen a comparison to a Mazda 3 versus a lame ass Corolla though."
Mazda 3 is a modest, minor irritant for Civic and Corolla.
YTD Sales
Corolla 155.5K units
Civic 153.0K
Mazda 3 21.6K
Corolla and Civic each sold more than 7 times what Mazda sold.
They are the same, according to the Honda website.

I'd guess the performance difference is primarily due to changes they made in the transmission...
Local dealer had four on the lot yesterday, maybe more somewhere else. Two Sports, an EX and Touring. "Sold" signs were displayed on the EX and Touring. Noticed windshield washer is now built into the wipers. Allows hood to be raised more vertical for service.
No coolant temperature gauge?
Center display is lower than the top of steering wheel. Shouldn't interfere with the driver's vision looking to the right front of the car.
Pushbutton start without smart entry seems a bit strange. You've got to access your fob to open the locked door but you don't need it to start the engine.
It's all good if the door isn't locked. Keep the fob in your pocket.
They retained that goofy 0-160 analog speedo. I prefer the digital speedo. More compact and usable.
Also they moved the radiator cap back to the radiator. No more plastic pressurized expansion tank.
LED external lighting is a major improvement.
Also like moving the mirrors out onto the...
