Did you ever figure it out?
U0301 would be "Software Incompatibility with ECM/PCM"
U series codes are computer networking codes
Make sure you are running the correct tune file for your engine/trans/PCM combo.
there are many variables as to why that code is being triggered (ie, last service...
There is the OBDLink SX USB connection that is relatively inexpensive and can do all the readiness, clear codes, etc....I use an OBDLink LX Dongle and it's a higher end unit (~$50, but works great), the cheap ones on Amazon cause all kinds of connection issues in the 86 putting it into a Limp...
If that is the route, changing back to stock before inspections, you are going, remember to give yourself some time before getting the inspection. The Evap system will show not ready for a very long time, as it is the hardest to get to reset. On my catless supercharged FRS, it took upwards of a...
Yes, it will not be compliant with the law. Ktuner will tell you all day long it won't be compliant, as they should. EPA just busted Harley for that.
Can you disable the catalyst codes and still pass inspection? Yes. Disabling the secondary o2 only disables the catalyst system, not the o2...

The failure on the readiness depends on your state. Texas allows 1 system in the "Not Ready" status.
So if anyone is worried about it, check with your local laws on inspections.
This also depends on the state where you live. In Texas, we are allowed 1 readiness system to be "not ready"
I've ran catless cars for years with never failing for readiness on our OBD II check.

For those that are questioning on getting this mod, They did wonders with the FRS/BRZ turbo systems they made, so I'd trust them on this one.
I am really considering doing...
