On cars I had with digital fuel gages the light would come on when it dropped to 1 bar. When this one came on with 3 bars showing, that threw me off.
That's why I prefer analog fuel gages
I only got 1k miles on mine. My fuel gage seems a bit strange. First, the estimated range showed only 28 miles (yes, I know that's only a calculated estimate), 2 bars on the gage, no fuel light. Then light came on but I still had 2 bars for quite a while.
Couple weeks ago the light came on and...
Just had mine for 5 weeks. Was looking through the manual when I saw it. Just seemed strange.
Yes it has slower absorption rate but also lower boiling point
Anybody have an idea why Honda used DOT 3 brake fluid vs. DOT 4? I don't think I've seen the 3 on any newer cars... my '89 CRX takes DOT 3. Just seems a bit weird to use 3 on a performance car
Filter testing should all be done to the same ISO standard.
That's not to say the AI compilation didn't include other testing too but if the tests were done according to ISO they're comparable even if done at different labs
This is from "Bob the oil guy"
15400-RTA-003: Made in Japan. This is basically the JDM version of the current blue can 15400-PLM-A02, but much higher quality (7317 size)
H1540-RTA-03: This is the HAMP version of the 15400-RTA-003. Same filter, but this the can says both Made in Japan and...
I've seen quite a few people say that the OEM filter made in Japan (15400-RTA-003) is much better than the A02 made by Fram in the US... a quick AI inquiry seems to confirm that
If AI is correct and these are the Honda OEM filter specs, that's a significant difference
Filters out at least 70% of particles 30 microns and larger, and 85% of particles 40 microns and larger
Mainly asking because Hondas seems to let larger particles pass and has less efficiency... assuming the AI response is accurate (micron rating that specifies it filters out at least 70% of particles 30 microns and larger, and 85% of particles 40 microns and larger).
Most other brands have a 20...
Got my black R 2 weeks ago.
Was wondering what oil filter you guys use? In another forum most people say OEM and yet in another one most dislike Hondas OEM filter.
Any opinions on Hengst or Wix?
