  1. Those who've had windshields replaced - help me rate this job

I need to find another shop...🤦‍♂️ It's all relative. If I had an FL5 that was a weekend toy, I'm all for it (not to say that there aren't daily-driven Type Rs). However, as a base model Civic owner, I'm having a hard time on ROI.
  2. USB adapter for A to C...cheap and easy mod

Do people forget that USB-C to USB-A cables have been a thing for some time now? I just use the old-school power port for charging, as my pre-fcaelift base model only has one USB port.
  3. Those who've had windshields replaced - help me rate this job

Windshield protection film does exist, and I was sorely tempted to do so as I needed my clear windshield tint redone and the shop I used offers it. However, I was not sold on the ROI, as I was quoted around $800 for installation, and the life expectancy of the film is two-to-four years. For a...
  4. Those who've had windshields replaced - help me rate this job

Probably a "D" would be more fitting. And I was mad about that deformed piece, but since I didn't pay to have my windshield replaced (and this wasn't a dealer I normally go to), I didn't want to try my luck acting as a Karen. Especially when the hinge cover only cost me $11 including shipping.
  5. Those who've had windshields replaced - help me rate this job

If this were school project, I'd give it a "C." They completed the work, but definitely made some silly mistakes. Though my lowly FL2 was always missing the foam piece. I had my windshield replaced last summer at the dealer, though a third-party does the actual installation. While the final...
  6. 11th Generation Honda Civic Battery 31500-TLA-EFB100M Cold Weather Failure

It's actually normal after swapping out the battery, as the car's systems need to recalibrate. As for the stock Honda battery, I'm not surprised. I opted to swap mine out to am AGM with better CCAs after seeing what I thought was battery acid.
  7. Headlight Adjustment?

What would be nice to have is a headlight aiming machine, which in my experience, is rare to find in the USA. I doubt any shop would spend the thousands of dollars on such equipment when a flat wall is free. Though here's a great guide on how to "properly" aim lights without a machine...
  8. Clix Auto Wiperblades... not compatible with 2024 FL5?

The closest thing I could find from Bosch is the AM30H. However, it's not sold in the USA. Instead, I ended up using a rear wiper blade from a G01 BMW X3. Though while the internet says the Civic and X3 have a 300mm blade, there's approximately a one-inch difference between the two. Civic on...
  9. Headlight Adjustment?

I tend to turn it off if I find it frustrating on some drives. Most of the time, it works fine. If the road is straight, it works well enough and turns off the high beams before I reach the oncoming car.
  10. Clix Auto Wiperblades... not compatible with 2024 FL5?

I can confirm that the XT models fit the Civic without modification! They just sit a smidge higher than OEM.
  11. Headlight Adjustment?

I think other drivers are just confused by the Civic's split low-beam, making it seem that the high beams are on. Other than that, I've been only flashed a handful of times, most likely due to the slightly slow auto-high beam. The car takes its time to detect oncoming traffic before turning on...
  12. Time for new tires

I echo the thoughts of swapping over to the Continental DWS06+. I did that swap when I had my 10th gen and, not only did the performance improved, but there was a slight improvement in tire noise.
  13. Battery registration after replacement?

Before I replaced my battery, I tried to see if there was a registration process in the service manual (posted somewhere in this forum). I didn't find any. Plus, if there was, I should think the manual would say something like "please visit your dealer." But that's just my experience. YMMV
  14. Clix Auto Wiperblades... not compatible with 2024 FL5?

Sorry for the bump, but I found this video on YouTube that shows that trimming off one of the ears on clip "B" allows the use of the SI Tech. I haven't tried it personally, but I do want to upgrade to silicone blades. I'm just worried about how PIAAs would sit on the windshield versus OEM.
  15. What did you do to your CivicXI today??

It's been a long time since I posted on this forum. But I finally got my first oil change done this past weekend. Took it to the dealer (the horror), and things went quite smoothly, despite the horror stories I read. Someone ignored my "do not wash" instruction, and only remembered once my car...
  16. Lasfit LED turn signals + Diode Dynamics XPR Reverse Lights.

Here's a photo of the VLEDS HO 921 in action. There's more dead zones in the light pattern. It's not really a surprise since these are two-sided bulbs versus the four sides of the XPR. But brightness is comparable. I tried to park a similar distance to the outhouse, though I overshot it by a lot.
  17. Lasfit LED turn signals + Diode Dynamics XPR Reverse Lights.

Here's a surprising update. After a few months, I have replaced the XPRs with VLEDS High Output 921. https://www.vleds.com/shop-bulb-numbers/921-led/921-6-ho-w-5k.html Not because the bulbs failed. But with surprising regularity, the driver's side bulb kept falling out of the socket at least...
  18. What did you do to your CivicXI today??

Katzkin leather installed on my Civic. Before: After: It also rectified one of my big complaints about the interior: the fabric door panels. My original plan was to buy custom seat covers from Coverking, and swap the door cards from either an EX-L or Sport Touring. Luckily, Katzkin had...
  19. Lasfit LED turn signals + Diode Dynamics XPR Reverse Lights.

Update on the XPRs. So far, my FL2 is unscathed. I can confidently say that this combination works on the Civic. However, one bulb has popped off the same socket, twice! For the first occurrence, I bent the metal prongs on the bulb outwards, so it sits snug. That lasted more than a week. The...
  20. What did you do to your CivicXI today??

Finally had the chance to install the @Suma Performance mirrors. It was a much easier install compared to the 10th gen. And here's the best reason for these mirrors. This was from an MDX. But I do appreciate the color flicker and cut-off.
