The way I enjoy my ITS, I average ~14 mpg. It would be great if the car comes with a 20+ gallons capacity fuel tank. However, I suspect space would be compromised.
I doubt the cost to solve this is worth it to make it a product. I have found a good balance of enjoying the car for what it is...
You would not happen to know if Motec is working on it for the FL5/DE5 would you?
I have not looked into Hondata in detail since the FK8 days. I prefer a first principle approach. Does Hondata share what they have access to and what they do not?
Doing it right might not make the car run any...
I am likely in the minority as my motivations are very different than most I would speculate.
As strange as it might sound, I want to pursue this path partly because it is hard (forcing function to learn and do hard work).
Besides the rewards of good hard work, my objective is to share my...
Well, I am waiting for it to become available. If it is available already, I would not be exploring this more expensive and tedious path with tools like Autotuner.
Hopefully, Motec comes out with it soon!
@Vito.FL5 If you prefer, I am happy to move Q&A to DM/PM too. I figure since this is about ECU tuning, others might benefit from your expertise as well.
Can you elaborate a bit more on “friends working at Honda” please? Correct to assume it is for information that helps reverse engineering the...
@Vito.FL5 According to Viezu, KESS3, Autotuner, Magic Motorsport Flex all do not support the ECU of the FL5/DE5 ECU.
If I am looking for a good set of tools to download binaries from the ECU, edit maps, record high frequency and high bandwidth data logs, flash edit maps to the ECU, what tools...
Looks great @Jester04. How high is the revised rev limiter? 7400rpm?
I am a big fan of PWR intercoolers and hope a kit comes out for the FL5/DE5 relatively soon.
If your spare F22C is in good shape, good running F22C prices have gone up. Maybe you can sell that and I will make you such an awesome deal? ;)
I am not in a big hurry. I mainly want to find a good home for an amazing engine (at an amazing price).
Well, I just might have the solution for you. I have a fully built F25C by InlinePro that I am selling. It’s a step above the F24C and capable of reving to 9000 rpm. It is currently sitting at InlinePro ready to go and I plan on letting it go for a very low price. I had 4 S2000s and sold 3 of...
For high rpm, I think there are quite a few areas to address in order to do it “properly”.
1. As @Jester04 already pointed out, having sufficient resolution in tables is important. While that might not impact dyno numbers, better resolution (assuming well tuned) will result in a faster and more...
Thanks for sharing great insights! I am a fan of sharing information as that is likely to up the quality of tunes overall.
Is it relatively easy to scale tables for say 8000 rpm redline? As we go beyond factory parameters, I would imagine we will need to figure out turbo model data as well.
Ideally, I would prefer the ability to fully program the factory Bosch ECU and am looking into that path as well.
With Hondata, since I have not looked deeply, I am not sure what tables are exposed and what flexibility exists. With modern implementations, there are likely lots of models and...
@optronix shared lots of great information. In today’s environment, I think it’s more difficult to figure out where to find good information. While I find Zygrene content a bit better than most, I would suggest understanding their background as a way for you to make up your own mind as well...
