Exactly right.
Phearable is its own ecu software. But you can use a Hondata device to load it. I'm no expert though on how it actually gets loaded onto the ECU as I was lucky enough to have the owner of Phearable as a near neighbor and he did it at my house! Pure luck on my part
First of all, it runs perfectly. Starts exactly the same, idles perfectly smooth. There's absolutely no indication that any kind of non factory mods are present. It's professional and that means a lot to me.
It's substantially more powerful now. No question. I used to live in Colorado...
Oh yes, you can run the tune without any mods.
The car has been running perfectly. I highly recommend the tune.
I am going to get the PRL intercooler and intake but I track my car and live in the heat
Phearable Stage 2 ECU tune review
Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting John Vega and having him load the Phearable Stage 2 tune with the multi tune option on my FL5 Type R.
I have had a few tuned cars in the past, mostly VW GTIs. Coming to the Type R I was disappointed to find out that the...
I understand the people who aren't impressed by the pops, but in my mind, to each their own.
I don't like super loud cars but this isn't going to wake up the neighbors when you go to work. There's a guy in my neighborhood that has a VW Jetta no no exhaust at all. It's incredibly loud...
I previously owned an Elantra N and the pops are something I miss most about that car.
In the EN, the pops would only happen in the most aggressive drive mode. It was prefect. You could basically turn them on and off with the push of a button. Loved it.
From what I read in this thread...
I started out doing autocross in high school. Then did some PCA driving schools with my old man. I did the 3 day Bob Bondurant school in Phoenix, the two day Lotus school at Spring Mountain in NV. Then about 30 days at High Plains Raceway in Colorado. I had zero instruction during those 30...
I did swap to RBF600 before my first track day with the Type R. It's too cheap and easy not to do.
I haven't pushed or found the limits of that fluid yet. But I will
Good info, thanks.
I sacrifice lap times to preserve brake life and engine overheating issues. I only point this out so that people who have little to no track time understand that you can track these cars with way less wear than you are experiencing. But obviously they can't even come...
I'm curious about the intercooler and oil cooler blocking airflow to the radiator.
I haven't bought or installed either yet so I don't have a good sense of how much air flow those items would block. I'd really need to actually do the install and see.
What's the concensus on the first thing...
Pardon my ignorance here please.
I read every post in this thread but I'm not understanding what your ability is to switch back and forth between tunes?
Can I get the Hondata tune and using the flash pro be able to swap back and forth between the tuned and stock ecu? Thanks
What would you guys say would be the best wheel/ tire package for setting fast lap times?
Going down to 18s for weight, and going to 10" width and maybe 285s, 295s?
I'm going to be running a lot of track days on a relatively high speed track and looking for a set of dedicated track wheels...
