Revised spacer with recessed OEM mounting holes to allow OEM screws to thread perfectly and creates a flat surface to mount new sub for a perfect seal.

Yeah no clearance issues at all. Box is sealed really well too. I used a rubber adhesive padd around the ring between the sub and speaker spacer to ensure a tight seal. I'll make a couple extra 1/2 in spacers and 1in spacers. If you guys want to try them out let me know. Shoot me a dm.

I've also ran the power wire to the hatch. I'm still not exactly sure where I want to mount the small mono Kicker amp. Ground wire is ready to go too. Likely going to run the bass knob up and going to locate a good remote wire to tap into depending on how the amp reads the bass signal and turns...

I wouldn't say it's broken in. I think my biggest issue with the swap was it wasn't an improvement over the OEM sub and overall car audio was worse.

Phase 1 upgrade: Swap OEM Bose sub to aftermarket kicker 8 in shallow mount 2ohm DVC that I already had from a previous car. Results: not enough juice to power 2 ohm DVC 8 in Kicker wired to 1 ohm. Waiting on amp and loc to arrive to complete my goal. Phase 2 will be complete in the next week...
