I would say the fk8 is comparable to a lambo by design language. Others have said it too.
Xgen hatches were apparently lambo inspired, based on a discussion with former Honda Exec Dasuke Tsuatamori.
I like that the fk8 resembles gundam though, and I I've even posted that comparison myself, and cited it as an apparent plus/good thing
..and there's nothing wrong if fl5 appears to be similar to a CH5 (both have curvy design language too)
This thread is about the whole rear end, and the front end in some way
Similar to how we have had one thread on a rear bumper mod, then a different thread on a front bumper mod
To start, I like all the type rs, from ep3 to fl5.
⚫Fl5 reminds me of other cars too, like a simplified porsche or simplified fseries bmw m, but it also reminds me of stuff like CHR.
~~~~So the CHR, was introduced after xgen civics' release, always reminded me of the xgen civic, but only...
Actually, the fl5 reasonably closer to CHR, in terms of
1. bumper height, as the CHR's lights are basically the median size between the fl5 and fk8, apparently allowing the rear number to ride up more in the design, similar to fl5
2. bumper design (fl5 has no more artificial honey comb vents...
You've got to be joking?
You said it your self, the tail lights are shorter. That's exactly a part of the reason why the bumper is quite taller.
Albeit, at any rate I am reasonably certain if we did some measurements fl5's would be taller, and they look quite taller, even if you bizarrely...
Was just looking at bumper height design in some modern cars.
●Almost mistook a bmw m 440i grancoupe for a suv when I saw how high the rear bumper was riding.
●I notice fl5's rear bumper seems quite a sum taller than fk8 too
When did this trend begin?
Edit last image added to show...
●Maybe just cam angle as well as the fl5 wheels being smaller.
●When you put both cars on similar tyres and suspension height, they look similar in terms of height
Fl5 bumper is bigger though
Us version of fk8 and fl5 got lots of the stuff now removed from fl5 according to spec sheet
⚫A/C, GPS module, tonneau cover; auto dimming interior mirror; parking sensors, electric adjustment or heating functions on mirrors etc, all of which were removed for this "S Grade" variant, and most of...
~Not sure ho much weight was saved.
~Honda has not released that data to my knowledge.
⚫No A/C, no GPS module, no tonneau cover; no auto dimming interior mirror; no parking sensors, no electric adjustment or heating functions on mirrors etc...
The weight savings may have made record breaking...
A separate flavour of fl5 developed for Nurburgring given the data.
So it may have been likely that standard fl5 couldn't quite zero in on the record, and Honda opted to spend some more cash in testing/tracking that extra flavour/special edition.
A reasonably key difference here.
1. Honda claimed fk8 was same weight. They deleted rear seats, but added roll cage for eg.
2. Nurburging Fk8 was sold essentially under the same weight and name globally.
3. Nurburging Fl5 will not be sold under the same name and weight like standard fl5 given...
I wouldn't rely so much on that record.
That record was also probably set by the non-standard FL5, with No A/C, non standard navigation, no cargo cover etc.
Looking at the video again I notice the infotainment system is covered up .
⚫No A/C, no GPS module, no tonneau cover; no auto dimming interior mirror; no parking sensors, no electric adjustment or heating functions on mirrors etc...
Actually, the fl5 that set the record was not standard at all.
It's not even sold yet, and will only be sold in some european markets as a special edition "S Grade".
