I’m almost certain that this will be the last ICE Honda with the Nurburgring FWD record. I still don’t know if it’ll be DCT or not, but at this point, it’s in the hands of the car journos to figure that out - DCT would contribute to a faster Ring time and would keep with the Type S’ philosophy.

Makes sense! I was thinking back to the FK8 and the test mules running around Ohio prior to the release.

Many Honda engineers/employees in the states have yet to even see one in person and they haven’t had a press event with driving examples yet that I know of. ?‍♂️

These are likely going to be press tester cars and HoA cars - still way too early for mainline US shipment.

I wonder if anyone has put any thought into that? Crazy, right? ?

You know what’s odd of Honda? They never posted the 2020/2021 facelift FK8 or LE times at the ‘Ring. I’ve got a sneaky suspicion that the facelifted FK8 with the same tires as the FL5 will set a comparable lap time - remember that the FK8 facelift received several suspension and brake upgrades...
