Correction, I checked my invoice and he did use the BR7-3017. I think the BMG was from the initial quote, which was for an Escort. I went with the Uniden R8.

My installer used a BMG-3017. He didn't think the BR7-3017 would work with the FL5.

New cars are not transported across the country in open trailers. They're moved by rail and then shorter distances by truck.

Based solely on the fees being charged, I'd say you're paying Midwest state fees for the temporary plate and just the CA sales tax. So once the car arrives, you'd need to take your paperwork to the CA DMV and pay registration and licensing fees. And get the smog check.

I was hoping that would be true, but I tried your bolts (because I'm waiting for a friend to help me install them on the Wing) and they're a little larger with a slightly different thread size than my license plate screws.

Did any new US owners receive an "anti-theft ID card" with their car? Honda claims "the card is usually placed in the glove box at the time of delivery". It has the code and serial numbers for the radio and navigation systems, which would be nice to have.

According to the Honda website, you have to "deactivate" the "Driver Feedback" on the "My Vehicles" page. Hopefully turning off data sharing in your phone works too.
