Drove over a drainage grate that must have been sticking up a bit, and it apparently caught on my front lip. Tore my front bumper right off, which I then proceeded to drive over ?♂️. Had to reverse over it to get it.
Ah... the joys of owning a lowered car with a front lip.
Ah, you're right. In your picture, the camera is closer to the side with the single white line, but the rear view shows that the angle is over towards the double white lines. This is strange.
I took my car to the dealership again, and this time they noticed scratch (I think he called it "chatter") marks on the rear rotors:
I had to get new rear rotors since there wasn't enough of them left after the previous resurfacing. I've been driving around for several days now, and the...
I was due for new front pads, so I had those replaced on my last visit along with rotor resurfacing. The squeaking stopped for a few days, then came back again. It seems intermittent now.
They didn't mention wheel bearings during any of the appointments.
Copied many other forum members and got Enkei Triumph wheels installed today. 18x9.5 +45 with 265/35 Michelin PS4 tires. I'm very happy with how it looks for how relatively cheap the wheels were (coming from an FK8 where I had Titan7 wheels).
I was using wheel spacers with the stock rims, but...
Installed the RSplitters front splitter. I picked this splitter because:
The last one I had was too fragile and broke too easily... this one is solid, made out of HDPE.
This one is relatively thin (hopefully less scraping on driveways).
It uses the factory fastener holes (no drilling).
Update - front wheel(s) are still squeaking, but now I'm having a slightly different symptom. Before, I'd have to drive around for a while before the squeaking started. Now, the squeaking starts immediately when I start driving, and it seems to lessen the longer I drive.
I plan on taking it...
Another thing it could be... I've noticed that you need to drive the car around for a few minutes before the pop 'n bangs kick in. I assume the car needs warmed up to a min temp.
So, if you just started driving, put it into +R mode and expected pops right away... you might just need to wait...
I can't believe I've been having this issue off and on for almost a year now. I took my car into a different Honda dealership (First Texas Honda) to address a check engine light, but I also had them look at the squeaking noise issue.
It turns out that my front right brake caliper was leaking...
I requested the pops & bangs feature when I ordered the Phearable tune... I only noticed a difference with that feature between the two updates. More details in my post here.
Just got an update from the dealership, and @mbaapk was right! Turns out there was too much water in the gas. They suspect this was causing the latest codes, especially the cylinder 1 & 4 misfires. They're going to drain and re-fill.
Unfortunately, no update. The car has been at the dealership (First Texas Honda) since the 13th, and they still weren't sure what was the throwing the codes as of 2 days ago. I'll be sure to post updates here once they (hopefully) figure it out.
