Valves are the weak point in raising the limiter on these cars.
Forgive my lack of mechanical knowledge but can valves be upgraded the same way rods/pistons can?
Like a “forged” alternative? My dream is an 8200rpm limit lol and I’m wondering if the K20C1 can be reliably built for that.
Again...
Please ignore the annoying knock, I’m referencing the groaning sound (Idk how else to describe it)
It goes away as soon as I release the clutch. Only really present on cold starts and I can’t replicate by revving the car while the clutch it depressed. It’s only on cold starts
Down in Mexico last night, +-130mph (theoretically)
Go to put the car in neutral and the trans feels off, almost like I’m still in gear but I wasn’t. I keep trying to move the shifter to see if I’m in neutral but the shifter doesn’t have a lot of play, like it’s in gear.
Finally find neutral...
Was driving today and ran 2nd-3rd WOT to merge on the highway. Had AC on blast and holy shit the motor is significantly louder.
Is this just a me thing?
As title states, I have what feels like a slight lag after a top of second into third gear up shift. You’ll be on the throttle and it feels like there’s a half second delay before it gets up and going again.
No grinds or anything that feels like a bad shift, just that slight delay in power...
Missed a shift yesterday, no idea how but I did.
3rd to 4th, accidentally went 2nd around 72mph. Car didn’t throw a CEL, no smoke, bangs or grinds. Just immediately hit neutral and dropped into 4th.
Have driven over 100miles since the incident and car drives fine. Pulls fine, shifts fine...
Dumb question, but when I dump the clutch in neutral, it feels like the clutch catches or sticks at about 75%. Just before it’s fully released.
If I push it in/out normally and while driving, it’s smooth.
I just noticed it because I just let off the clutch really fast at a light once I put it...
Was a wee bit of a dumb ass last night and was tooling around in my new FL5
I went to go from 4th-5th and whiffed. Went into third at about 75mph. Car didn’t bang off the limiter but the RPMs flew up obviously, clutched in and went into fourth again
My gut says I’m fine, everything feels...
