Curious on this, when the engine is running, I feel a rush of constant hot air in the red highlighted section of the attached picture. What is the cause of this hot air?

Seen this on other forums and always enjoyed learning on what other enthusiasts have in their stable. For me its a 14 Lexus RX F-sport. Not as exciting as the FL5 but very comfortable and reliable.
