I haven't driven the Elantra N or N line but I'm sure they are great machines. I've said this before, but the Civic Si is a great drivers car. In stock form, it won't win any drag races, but the shifter is excellent, handles great and is comfortable. The interior is a nice place to be and if you...
SPOT on with your assessment of the 11th generation civic si. My experience very much parallels yours right down to the color of the car. I have owned a 3g Integra GSR 4g CRX Si and a 2005 Accord. I bought mine 3 weeks ago and have put about 1000 miles on mine. The more I drive it, the more I...
Maybe to inflate the overall higher numbers? My butt dyno doesn't jive with the ~225 horsepower claim from some of the dyno-tested cars we are seeing online.
I'm aware of that but was wondering which specific parameters makes one tune CARB legal. I assume anything related to emissions but which specific parameters cannot be modified?
:applause: !!!
Thank you for providing the flexibility to use different tunes. It looks like the CARB 240 and CARB 250 tunes keep the longevity of the stock clutch in mind. At some point I see upgrading the stock clutch will be a necessity and consider it a wear item.
Ahh. Makes sense to start at atmospheric pressure and then go from there. Just curious, as altitude increases, does the ECU compensate overall lower atmospheric pressure?
Looking forward to seeing the technical write-up. I am completely new to turbo engines. I had a '97 GSR which I bought new in the fall of 1997 which was a great platform. Tons of data available for the B-series engines but to get power out of it needed revs and never made any real torque. I...
Looking at each of the parameters above, it looks like the two lines represent stock and "tuned" data? If so, very interesting. Looks like there is a fair amount of headroom with tuning.
Did Honda determine why both engines at Thunderhill failed? Was it a internal engine issue or something else...
Looking forward to a possible "street", tune which hopefully allows retaining stock components with exception of maybe a clutch upgrade down the road. Thanks for providing great tech. I'm old enough remember there used to be a Honda related "tech" forum with posts such as this...:)
Enjoyed driving the Si on the Blueridge Parkway on Saturday. The car handled the drive very well but had to behave as I was with my wife. Until next time!
Agreed. I’m 48 and have a temperamental back. The 11th gen si is at the upper end of ride firmness that I would like but the more I drive it the less I notice the firmness. That being said l, the roads I drive are fairly good with very few potholes. I can see a northern climate with poorer roads...
Does anyone know if the brake sizes are the same between the generations? I want to upgrade the stock front pads with something with a little more bite like the Hawk HPS or Porterfield R4S.
Thanks!
Thank you for your detailed response and explanation of why rev hang is a product of emissions/injector function. As a 2022 Civic Si owner, I'm looking forward to further updates from you all as you gather data. Any rough timeline when you plan on offering a tune?
Thanks!
Jamie
I saw on another website that the two Civic Si's campaigned at the 24 hours of Thunderhill by Honda both blew their engines using a previous generation tune. Does anyone know the cause(s)?
Exactly. And in all honesty, it's probably not a bad thing. Premium gas isn't always available and you also have some people who refuse to use it because it's more expensive.
