Simple back story:

Young Joel, with his parents on vacation, decides to take his dad’s FL5 out for a cruise with his “girl friend”. Leaves car on an incline at boat dock in gear as they get out to talk. Girl forgets her jacket and goes back to FL5 to retrieve and accidentally puts car in neutral and locks the door. Car starts to slowly roll toward the water and Joel, in a panic tries desperately to “slow the roll”, ultimately jumping spread eagle on the hood. Miraculously the car comes to rest at the end of the wooden dock. All is saved

Then, the dock collapses and the car completely submerges.

Joel has car towed to local Honda dealer who asks “who’s the U-boat commander?”

Should have made a movie about it……

p.S, Plot hole: keys could not be locked in car.
This could trigger a ballast tank recall.

I pictured a Lampoon's style of film, and some sort of John Candy cameo in this scene as well lol
