That's the website I mentioned several weeks ago which I thought would be the best public facing indicator around the first week of January. I'd say this qualifies as an official conclusion to this epic thread!

Still waiting for a response back from Acuity, but from what I've been able to work out, the claims made on the box MUST factor in some combination of height/throw/gate settings which is not very clearly stated.
Furthermore, the addendum statement in the install guide seems to indicate that...
I agree it may not be for everyone, but it seems enough people have asked about it that PRL felt it was worth making. I appreciate you guys for spending the time and resources to develop this.
I feel like all the information is there to be able to figure this out, but the math just isn't adding up to me. This is stated on the box:
Gear Throw:
Position "1" = +20%
Position "5" = -50%
Stock should be somewhere between 2 & 3.
Gate Spacing:
Position "1" = -35%

Acuity manual suggests the following:
LHD FL5 Mount position = B or C
Gate = 1...

I can identify with so many things in your opening statement. Congrats on the new FL5. I've also been pretty tame with my mods since I traded in my FK8 for an FL5 about 9 months ago.
Despite what most FK8 owners I talk to say, there is a quite significant improvement in virtually every...
I don't have tint, but I also have a garage at home and a parking deck at work, so its rarely parked outside in the sun for very long.
I do recommend getting a heatshield for the front window. Definitely helps with interior temps in the summer months.
