I have battled with rattles all over the interior of my 2023 and have had some success but once you fix a couple, then a new one seems to rear it's ugly head. It's got to the same point it got with my old 2013 STI where I waived the white flag and accepted that this was simply never going to be...
Going by C&D's long term 2022 Si straight line performance degradation at 40k miles I would surmise that carbon buildup may be prevalent as this is the type of performance decline you typically see from carbon buildup...
As said above it's likely due to the PPF installers removing the pieces and paint coming off. That's a paint defect that should be warrantied as it's a sign of poor paint adhesion.
My 23 Si is my first Honda in decades. It's also the noisiest car I've owned in decades. Noiser than past EVO's and STI's who are runners up for the title of noisiest.
Passenger side? I have this as well. I took off the passenger door panel and took the dash apart on the passenger side and lined surfaces with Dynamat and sound insulating foam but I still get the rattle in that corner of the car especially at startup. I'm beginning to wonder if it's the...
I can't imagine paying over MSRP for one of these cars. It's a decent car and all but the performance is limited and the interior build quality is terrible. Sure the layout and materials look nice but I have spent most of my ownership chasing rattles. The seats make noises, the seat belts...
If you are always running 87 in your Civic Si you will be running with the timing retarded (less power and efficiency) accordingly by the ECU to prevent knock.
This is not a new phenomena with small engines. Just google something like; "can air conditioning make manual shifter more rough" and you will see owners of cars with small displacement engines asking the same question.
This is common on small engines like the 1.5l because of increase...
I will say that these are really noisy cars. So many rattles. It's almost like Honda designed the cars and Subaru built them as my 2013 STI was the last car I owned that rattled this much inside.
Once you are sputtering it's too low. Anything above that is fine and it's just a matter of modulating the throttle accordingly. The turbocharger really isn't part of the equation if you are just at low speeds in 1st or 2nd gear.
I assume he's talking about the red "H" badge which is a pretty common mod. I'm going to agree with everyone else here in that the red mirror caps won't look good. In general only black or CF mirror caps look good on other colors. Even the Silver Audi ones really don't look that great.
This is what I used on the cloth seats and armrests of my Si. It's also works fantastic on fabric shoes as water just beads off it like fresh ceramic coating on a car.
