Ye needs to be around £40k based purely off the usd exchange rate that seems fair!
VW do actually seem to discount the golf R by almost 10% on drive the deal so under £40k for a base spec R!
Ye really tough times to be buying a car, the CVR will have a high list price, no discounts and if your financing via honda I can't see the APR been below there 6.9%, could be more! Be interesting to see if Honda will keep there usual free servicing when financing via them as that would help...
Great how they increase VED every year by inflation, but the £40k limit has been untouched ever since it brought in. That should be increasing same as the VED!
