well, I have an Si. But i had the rack replaced at 18k miles. Maybe the new rack they installed at 18k miles already had the "updated" parts and when they performed the recall it messed up the clearances. You would think Honda would confirm the steering rack part number before doing the...

It’s the steering rack. Seems the recall broke it and made it have excessive play. Regret ever getting the recall done. now i’m waiting for an adjuster to come out from my extended warranty company.

so that noise is just from me twisting the outer tie rod. it's not from the steering rack. it also did it when new but to a lesser extent. I think they are just a bit worn. try it when you get a chance.

could you take a video of the sound? I want to see if it sounds like mine. I wonder if they didn't tighten the subframe brace bolts or tie rods when doing the recall.

mine's the same way. i grabbed the outer tie rod and twisted it and could here the same clunking noise i hear when rapidly turning the wheel back and forth. so, i hope that's the culprit. seems normal since it's done it since new. But gotten a bit louder lately. makes sense with 70k...

mine makes the same noise. got under the car and twisted the outer tie rod by hand and could hear the same knock/clunk.
