Canadian dealer asked what colour Type R I want

Just noticed it too. These photo of ads are around LM, BC Area. I think they keeping it and holding for next year. Though I received a message from the red one a week ago as they were trying to sell it to me and even willing to let me test drive it. I just said “no need to test drive it if you’re gonna sell it to me for MSRP even if it’s considered used”. Didn’t receive a response after. LOL

PS: Don’t mind the 718, I’m just dreamin. ?

I have to wonder why you'd spend that much for it too. I think at that price, I'd rather go down south and get me a Boost Blue one or get a different car altogether. I'm sure 70-75K either used or new will open up some very interesting options lol.

I will say, those prices seem to be even higher in BC are higher than Ontario. Last time I was there, gas prices were pretty high in comparison to ON (was there last fall, 2022). I assume they're still on the high side or just the norm there?

I hope for these people that they bought with cash, you're looking at a 100k civic over 8 years at current interest rate, that's crazy.

I'd imagine they wouldn't keep it, just flip again once they're tired of it lol.

I went to the dealership I had my deposit last saturday. They have an Si coming in Feb and I was interested in it.. they are going to charge 3.5k in accessories for an Si.. I passed on the Si since I can't stomach paying nearly 10% extra on top of MSRP for Si, I guess I can bring myself to stomach it on type R although still not happy, they are not negotiable either.. they didn't have updates. the wait continues..

I am pretty sure they will. accessories arent too bad... floor mats, keyloss whatever, undercoating and ceraamicoat, etc.. just couldndt stomach paying those on an Si.
they got at least 2. I think someone drove by and saw 2 white around this time last year, but not exactly sure, the sales guy said one of them was gray..

problem is everything is inflated atm. Sure id rather get a ct4v blackwing for that price, but good luck. Those would be probably marked up around 100k and all spoken for. I don’t worry anymore honestly, I don’t mind getting an EN 25 model if all fails. It’d be a fun car to play around with, do some mods, not have to worry about the car being stolen

There's been more since then, at least through the past summer/fall 2023. Can confirm at least one at my dealership in July/August time frame.

I am at the grope 7 dealer size in Montreal Quebec Canada, it is over 1 year I am waiting for my car and still have no clue on my vin, to date they have only got 1 sonic Gray last November of 2022, initially I had put my deposit September 2, 2022 at another dealership but magically the dealership lost my paperwork so I was lucky enough to get a cancellation at this dealership to take the next spot, I have contacted Honda Canada customer service relations, many times by email and they have not been any help nor answer any of my questions properly, i’m extremely frustrated on the situation, a new car buying experience should be a fun time especially for a car like this but it seems like dealers in Canada or just making it a price gouging money game and it’s really sad for enthusiast and people who really want the car, i’m keeping up the faith, but losing it at the same time….. this is probably gonna be the first and last brand new car I will ever buy after this experience if I ever get it at this rate

I'm third in line apparently (who can really know anyway, a list managed by a dealer lol... ) but they only suppose to receive *one* unit until 2026, I'm not even expecting one, it's like a refundable lottery ticket for me unless Honda increase the production.

The salesman had the audacity to tell me the Dealer Manager had one but barely drove it, more like a trophy... Super frustrating. I have a Elantra N so it's not like I don't have anything fun to drive but the R was always a car I wanted. Anyway, yeah, I was told only 3 FL5 delivered in Quebec for 2023, 8,8 million Province btw... lol

Frustration for sure but I would still hold on unless you're in dire need of a car.... and worse case there's the Type S to fall back to, which all reviews have said is basically the same car with the luxury items you'd want, albeit with a 5K+ premium.

ya sorry im being so negative, lol
it's getting slightly dire for me... lol My daughter is going to daycare next week and I have to rely on my fam members car to drop off/pick up my daughter. Type S in the color I want is nowhere close to coming either. I just gotta be more patient though lol.
